Change

Many talk of change, yet very few actually change.  We are creatures of habit. and in the past habit was what lead to survival, except when an outside force changed then it forced adaptation that came from necessity.  Some say survival of the fittest.  I say, survival of those who can adapt the quickest.  (Click for video)Where are you?

Do you whine and complaint, yet do nothing?

Do you constantly seek greener pastures?

Do you only change when outside influences force change?

Or do you refine, adjust and adapt under each new circumstance?

Change isn’t easy.  In the stages of change model developed by Prochaska and DiClemente, it’s a journey.  An on-going process. Where are you?  The keys may assist you to understand the behavioural process.

Will you change or adapt? Is it time for change?

Change happens to us all.  We are within cycles of spring, summer, autumn or winter – the child, the adolescent, the adult and the wise elder.  Amazingly there are cycles within cycles.  Understand where you are within any cycle can assist the ease and grace with which you manage your behaviour.

Cognitive Behaviour comes about through understanding or identifying your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.  What is behind what you do?  Be aware of the meaning you place on any event.  Negative thoughts can distort reality, and can create patterns.  To break the pattern, change is required within the cycle, otherwise we repeat.

Notice if what you are doing is creating a downward or an upward spiral.  Notice if you are influenced by what others say.  Notice if you are seeking love, attention or approval in any moment.  Notice, what is your choice?
