Benchmark for Fitness | |
A benchmark is purely a way to assess where you are now, and then when you take your next benchmark you can compare to note the difference. Benchmarks can be used in all walks of life, personally or in business. This benchmark is an example for physical fitness. Have you taken a benchmark, yet? It will depend what you wish to improve within the set period. A benchmark can be kept simple. Join Facebook to learn more. This is an example of an aerobic test** – ensure you have health clearance. Look at the pre-exercise form, and ensure you are ok. If in doubt ask a professional. **Know your Resting HR. Find a set of stairs, and use the bottom step. Have a timer for 3mins. You need to do 22 (that’s up step, down step – one) per minute. Then at the end of 3mins after about 5secs take your Heart rate.(HR) You need to take the exact same bench mark in a months time, to check your improvement. In this case you are seeking a lower resting heart rate, and a quicker recovery of your HR after exercise. Another example is to select 5 exercises, check your style (beginner, intermediate or advanced), how many and how long? As a guideline suggestion – a beginner 30-60secs, intermediate 60-120secs and advanced 120-180secs. Of course, if you have never exercised before, check with your GP prior to any new exercise. If you have any health condition, check with a health professional prior to start, who maybe able to modify exercises to suit you. If you need assistance with assessment – go to the Facebook NOW or ask for a personal assessment session. | |
