Sharonmcl loves mantras, the sound of Sanskrit when you sing/chant can create a wonderful sense of balance and calm. Naturally it will depend on the mantra. A classic short mantra is OM. Each mantra has a reason and a purpose. If Sanskrit is not for you, then choose positive words that symbolise what you wish to obtain. Examples can be words like, love, light, peace etc. You can sing/chant within or out loud, depending on what feels right for you. Sharonmcl has taught & sung mantra in yoga classes, during therapy or treatment, workshops and retreats. It can be a wonderful way to open up your self-expression, and chanting can assist to create a resonance in your voice. You can begin today by choosing a sound or word that’s right for you, and set aside a time to practice. Resource: Healing Mantras by Thomas Ashley-Farrand 2000 Written 2014, updated 2023 | |
