Pilates – awaken your core
Clinical Pilates is an adaption of Joseph Pilates’ original form. It has been modified to be suited for clinical/rehabilitation settings, and in the basis from which Sharon instructs. The main key concept is training the body’s stabilising muscles, including transversus abdominus, internal obliques, multifidus, mid/lower trapezius, serrated anterior, gluteus mediums and maximums. Whereby creating stability in the abdomen, lumbar spine, shoulder girdle and pelvis. How is this achieved? Through: – Focussed muscle control – Body awareness and position – Correct breath – Flowing smooth moderate movements – Concentration – High reps at low loads – Progress to challenge stability If you would like to awaken your core, contact Sharon.
